Dear Mr TMobile.

We noticed when you had the HTC Hero/Tmobile G2 ROM update it took an AGE for you to release it. Now HTC have officially released the HTC HD2 Rom for the UK will you release it any sooner?

So PLEASE can we have the Rom update which will make my wonderful device 10% faster and have a non pink camera? I took this today... Very pink! -- url removed --

So please, please, please get your act together on this one! Don't leave us waiting for months again.

Yours Faithfully,

Cunninghamster.

I asked directly to HTC if was possible download the ROM directly from them but the answer is that TMobile have to issue the dedicated one. Please TMobile put the ROM downloadable from your site and or allow HTC to give us, HD2 owner, one of their ROM.
Thanks in advance

You can download the fix for the problem with the pink spot on the camara. I did it yesterday. I haven't taken enough photos yet to work out if it worked. It's on HTC's website.

Obviously, your's worked BUT all the fixes for all the little issue's they seem to be fixing (none of which i've experienced yet) on the HTC site are for unbranded handset's.

I am awaiting the new rom as sms is a bit slow when there are quite a few conversations for that contact and the weather doesn't update even though it's set to.

Hello Stefan I have read a post you posted in the FAQ section 25days ago about updating the HTC HD2 camera update.   I like other customers are experiencing the same problems and would like a deadline on how we can get our hands on a solution but before that, the update u have recommended does not bring any changes to the camera quality as this is compatible with the updated version of the ROM (1.48.405.2). Please read the comparability information on the HTC website for this update. I have downloaded it myself, it loaded on the device but the camera does not show any significant changes in quality of the problem being fixed, this is why I had a second look and noticed that it requires the updated the ROM. This same applies to other updates such as calendar view, sms, and contact.   A ROM update is needed for these updates to work properly as recommended on the HTC site.
This is the reason T-mobile has to give us a solution. I hope this aid a correction on this forum so that people are not misled.   Thank you

Hi Stefan,

As T-Mobile subscribers we pay your wages via our monthly accounts.
It's our responsibity to pay our monthly T-Mobile bills.
It's your responsibilty as our mobile phone supplier to supply us with the latest HTC HD2 software updates and ROM updates as soon as they are made available by HTC .
Why there is there so much delay in the latest ROM update being available online by HTC, and it being made available by T_Mobile.
Can you imagine how T-Mobile woud react if this was your users attitude to paying your monthly accounts.

Thanks for the reply Mr Tmobile.

But unfortunately you didn't answer my question. I was asking for the ROM update which would also improve the overall usability and performance of the device. Any idea when the ROM update will be available? Please?

Thank you once again.

Cunninghamster.

The Hotfix was already on the HTC website available to all. Unfortunately the Rom is only available for unbranded phones. We have to wait for Tmobile to get their act together! Please?

Why in the world would you want to install the update directly from T-mobile? Go over to XDA developers and have a look at their article on the goldcard method of updating the HD2 ROM. This will allow you to install the genuine ROM direct from HTC (although you wont be able to download it directly from HTC as they'll know from your serial number that the phone isn't SIM free), and this will remove all T-mobile branding, and give you back the youtube app.

You only need to go through the process once, and after creating a goldcard SD card, you'll be able to update to future ROMs simply by putting them onto the SD card and resetting the phone into firmware update mode.

I know about the goldcard method, but installing unofficial ROMs invalidates the warranty which I want to keep. We shouldn't have to hack our phones to make them work as they should.

T-MOBILE really are getting PATHETIC now. I have been using HTC products for 3 years now on 4 different networks and have never come across such childish irresponsible practices as this. Luckily I have only been signed up with them for 4 days so I am cancelling and signing up with a competitor. I feel sorry for you all.

Like also the walls now understand TM isn't able to manage these smartphone issues, may be better with simple handy without big efforts related and big volumes in terms of business/money.
If you don't want lose your time there is the possibility to use the Hard HSPL process and if you need the Warranty TM support (??!!) you can restore the actual TM ROM.
Please check on XDA forum.

Apparently the Rom Update is going through t-mobile Q+A, when will it be here? Well going on past HTC updates, i would hazard a guess at around 2 months after the official Rom was released. which puts us to around the beginning of Feb :(

Although i really hope not.

I love how T-Mobile tried to "divert" our frustrations by offering us a fix to the camera, instead of allowing us to do what we want to do with our phones.

They should not be allowed to do this, they themselves say that the phones are nothing to do with them but are property of HTC.

Why do they have the right to dictate what we can or can't do.

We want the phone which quite frankly we paid a hell of a lot of money for to do what they were made to do. The phone has a 1Ghz processor, but yes T-Mobile I see that streaming videos must be extremely weighted on the processor...

We basically bought a mini-netbook but they have stripped away massive amounts of functionality and performance from us.

For those who really want youtube or flash capabilities, if you check out w.w.w. skyfire .c .o. m. for skyfire browser which can show you youtube.

Pull your finger out t-mobile. Its things like this which make me want to leave you!

I know what you mean karlh1992. It's like Tmobile want us to void our warranties... which would save them money! You can install the youtube application onto your HD2 as it's available as a CAB file. Search XDA developers and you should find it knocking about in there.

Is there any more news on releasing the 1.4x roms or are Tmobile waiting for 1.6x to be released with Tmobile's American network with the HD2?

Thing is, XDA tell you exactly how to flash back to how it was for warranty repair so you are fine there.

I'd pester cust.rel@t-mobile.co.uk about the official update.
