From the Text Messages menu on your phone, select ' Write' or ' Create message' and use the keypad to write. Send by entering a mobile number or choosing a name from your phone book. A single message can contain up to 160 characters, but some phones will allow multiple messages of up to 450 characters. You'll need to set up a voicemail PIN before you leave the UK. To retrieve a message when abroad, access voicemail as normal, and then enter your PIN. Three charges will appear on your bill for each message. One for the incoming call, one for the message to be sent back to the UK, and one for you to retrieve it. Call your Voicemail, then press 2 for change mailbox features, then press 2 again for record a greeting and follow the instructions. A personal greeting lets callers know they're through to the right person and means people are more likely to leave you a message.

You must save downloads when you receive them or they will be lost. If you still experience problems, email us with the following information and we will investigate:
- What was the location of the attempted download on t-zones?
- What type of item did the you request?
- What handset and Software Version do you have?
- Did you follow the download process successfully?
- If not, what error messages did you receive?
- Did you enter all the information requested correctly?
- What was the date and time of the attempted transaction?
On the south east coast of England, there's a possibility that a French network may connect your call. Please ensure that your phone is connected to T-Mobile (UK) when making calls.
If this option is enabled on your phone, the message is sent as standard video and charged in the same way as a picture message.
Some companies base themselves outside of the UK. Unfortunately, they are not bound by the TPS. If a company is based within the UK but use an offshore company to make their calls, they must still adhere to the TPS.

Text messaging, or SMS, lets you send and receive short written messages through your phone.
It's a feature on most phones that helps you write messages faster. The phone predicts the word that's being entered based on the letters you input. Most phones also have a dictionary so you can add your own words.
The standard cost to send a picture message is just 20p.
If you send a lot of picture messages you can save money by adding a picture message bundle or by joining a Flext priceplan, where picture messaging come out of your monthly allowance.

T-Mobile customer based in the UK from the UK is actually only 15p per minute. Calling other UK networks is just 50p per minute.

Make sure you have good coverage. If not, switch your phone off and back on again or try again in a different location.
On some handsets, if your mailbox is full, you won't be able to receive texts and it might stop you sending them - try deleting some old messages.

All you need to do is send a picture message to yourself! Or to a friend who's received a picture message before. Once you've done this, you'll receive a 'Welcome' picture message from T-Mobile which means you're all set up and ready to start messaging.

You'll get the £1 capped rate automatically if you are:

You can although how you access it varies between phones. On some phones you'll be able to get to it by going to the bookmark section and clicking on 't-zones'. If it's not in your bookmark section, you can access it through T-Mobile Favourites which is the first page you'll see when you open up Web'n'walk.
The time it takes a page to load depends largely on how image-intensive it is. Pages containing lots of pictures load more slowly than those with mainly text. It can also depend on your phone and the connection speed available on the network at the time. Generally, you shouldn't have to wait longer than a few seconds for a page to load.
At peak times we may have reached full capacity. Please be patient and try again later. Also remember, Mobile TV only works in 3G coverage areas.
Browsing charges will apply to accessing the Sky EPG. Once you have reached the Sky EPG then you will not be charged for browsing. If you have a web'n'walk bundle then you will not be charged for browsing.
HotSpot provides an open connection to the internet in the same way as other access services such as DSL and cable. We recommend you use whatever additional security measures you have available, including virtual private networks, encryption and personal firewalls, to ensure peace of mind.

The 'Usage Monitor' in the T-Mobile Communication Center (TMCC) software can show you.
1. Open TMCC
2. Select ' Tools '
3. Select ' Usage Monitor '
4. Click the ' History' tab to see usage information by connection type and date range and the ' Current Session ' tab to see usage for the current connection

What do the flashing lights on the data card mean?
If the green light on the left:
is lit up - it means the WLAN is enabled
is out - it means the WLAN is disabled
is flashing - it means there is WLAN activity
If the light on the right:
ls flashing blue - it means you are connected to an HSDPA network
is flashing red - it means you are connected to a GPRS network
is flashing magenta - it means you aren't connected (the card may have lost connection with the network or it may be another fault)
This usually means the 3G network coverage is poor or congested or that your Mobile TV is trying to connect to the server

A Widget is a small application on your phone that provides specific information to you and can be functional or fun. A Widget connects to the internet to update its information. (i.e. The Accuweather Widget will update twice a day with the latest local weather).
Widgets are free to use however since they connect to the internet to update you will need to have internet on your phone or else standard internet charges will apply.
